An answer to somebody who asked whether one year can have three Eids. It can, he says: the Islamic year is about ten days shorter than the solar one, so when Eid al-Fitr falls in the first week of January it comes round again in the last week of December, with Eid al-Adha in between. In 2033 Eid al-Fitr falls on Monday 3 January and again on Saturday 24 December, with Eid al-Adha on Saturday 12 March. In 2039 it is Eid al-Adha that comes twice, on Thursday 6 January and Tuesday 27 December, with Eid al-Fitr on Thursday 20 October. The video closes on the table from his calendar giving these dates.
