The Moon's Position from NASA for Thirty-Four Years, 2027-2060
Somebody in India asked for the Moon's position set out simply, and he answers with a table of the next thirty-four years, 2027 to 2060, worked from NASA's new moon times. He goes through it column by column: the time of the new moon; the Moon's age at sunset, which needs to be about twenty hours for the crescent to be seen, and nineteen only with great difficulty; its altitude, where under ten degrees it will not be seen, marked in red; how many minutes it stays above the horizon, where under forty-five it is not seen; and a code saying whether it will be seen by eye, with a telescope or not at all, explained in Urdu beneath. On the right is the Islamic date up to 1483 AH, with every month marked as twenty-nine or thirty days and its first day given. The table shown is for Surat, and he says it is being given for many countries. It was prepared by Hafiz Engineer Muhammad Tahir of Manchester.

Three Eids in One Year: 2033 and 2039
An answer to somebody who asked whether one year can have three Eids. It can, he says: the Islamic year is about ten days shorter than the solar one, so when Eid al-Fitr falls in the first week of January it comes round again in the last week of December, with Eid al-Adha in between. In 2033 Eid al-Fitr falls on Monday 3 January and again on Saturday 24 December, with Eid al-Adha on Saturday 12 March. In 2039 it is Eid al-Adha that comes twice, on Thursday 6 January and Tuesday 27 December, with Eid al-Fitr on Thursday 20 October. The video closes on the table from his calendar giving these dates.

Every Saudi Moon Announcement Says: According to the Umm al-Qura Calendar
A second reply to the fatwa holding that Saudi Arabia does not use the astronomical new moon for its months. Whenever the Saudi royal court announces a month, he says, the anchor reads out that the decision is according to the Umm al-Qura calendar, and he points to the announcement for Ramadan 1431, in 2010, as one example. Even at the two Eids, where a sighting is put on show, the witnesses are made to testify in line with that calendar. Since it is built on one degree, at which the crescent can never be seen, he asks that a ruling on an obligatory fast be checked before it is given.

Saudi Arabia Decides by the Umm al-Qura Calendar, Not by Sighting
A reply to a fatwa holding that Saudi Arabia does not use the astronomical new moon for its months. He points to the crescent decisions published by the Saudi Supreme Court: every announcement since 2010, Ramadan and the two Eids included, says twice that it follows the Umm al-Qura calendar. That calendar, he says, is built on one degree, at which the crescent can never be seen. The seventeen-year record he compiled, with that phrase marked in red, can be downloaded from this page.

The Features of Al-Asl maa Ahadithihi wa Usulihi, Now in Four Volumes
Four volumes of Al-Asl maa Ahadithihi wa Usulihi are now ready, out of a work expected to run to about thirty-six. He sets out what the book does: three hadiths beneath every ruling of Imam Muhammad's al-Asl, drawn only from the early collections, among them the six books, the Musannafs of Ibn Abi Shaybah and Abd al-Razzaq, Musnad Ahmad, al-Tabarani and al-Daraqutni; and every proof marked, with its full reference, as a verse, a hadith, a saying of a Companion or a saying of a Successor. With that, he says, nobody will be able to claim the Hanafis have no hadith. The same work is already complete on al-Hidayah, al-Quduri and Nur al-Idah.

The Three Beliefs the Shia Rest On, Against Quran and Hadith
He sets out three beliefs the Shia rest upon and argues that each one goes against the Quran and the hadith. The first is that Ali was the first caliph, though he was thirty-three at the time while Abu Bakr was sixty-one and the more experienced; the second is that they exclude the Prophet's wives from the Ahl al-Bayt and even speak ill of them, when they belong to it first of all; and the third is that they weep bitterly over the martyrdom of Husayn, when no Sunni killed him and it was the Shia themselves who did so at Karbala.

Javed Ahmad Ghamidi holds that the women of this world will themselves be made into houris, so that the houris are not a separate creation. He answers that this goes against both the Quran and the hadith, since a hadith states that the women of this world will be superior to the houris on account of their prayer and fasting.
